Group Human Resources Manager – Surya Hotels – Colchester Essex

Main Objectives of the Role:
The Human Resources Manager is to provide a comprehensive HR Management advisory service to all staff and Management. The Human Resources Manager, manages operational and non-operational Human Resources related issues, including and not solely exclusive to, development and communication of policies, training administration, Human Resources reporting and coordinating in recruitment process, remuneration and performance management process.
The Human Resources Manager is responsible of ensuring company compliance across all disciplines for our Staff and Management and to provide credible, reliable and consistent support in all employment related matters.
Main Duties of the Role:
  • Develop and Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of our core asset
  • Develop, monitor and review overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organisation
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances and other issues
  • Nurture a positive and productive working environment
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process
  • Oversee and manage the performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Oversee, manage and react to all payroll related matters
  • Assess and deliver all training needs and deliver training programs
  • Ensure comprehensive legal compliance

  • Ensure each staff member attends company induction and property induction
  • Ensure each staff member attends statutory training
  • Coach all staff within the business on issues and processes
  • Conduct and annual staff survey
  •  Arrange staff meetings at properties
  • Create a STARS program within the business identifying talent
  • Assist GM’s in building their succession plan
  • Ensure all Job descriptions are review annually
  • Update all staff job specifications
  • Deliver weekly headcount schedule
  • Implement and deliver performance management systems
  • Build and deliver the HR budget
  • Create a compensation and benefits package
  • Manage payroll process
  • Produce a weekly staff turnover report
  • Support a charitable cause and sustainability policy for the company
  • Implement the grooming policy
  • Prepare annual training program for the company
  • Audit all staff files annually
  • Propose an intranet business plan
  • Attend meetings when requested by line managers
  • Ensure annual appraisals are carried out
  • To act as a positive Ambassador for Surya Hotels.
  • To ensure full compliance with employment law
  • To represent the company at tribunals
  • To be front facing and get out in the business to experience how the HR strategy is working at the front line
  • To be available to attend Board meetings in order to present the HR overview
  • Undertake project work when required
  • Oversee and manage risk assessments
