Sales Ledger Accountant – Surya Hotels – Colchester Based

  • Will have competency in using MS excel.

Main Duties of the Role:
 
  • Open new Customer Accounts.
  • Check and deal with internal and external e-mails.
  • Prepare Bank download spread sheets and send to Hotels.
  • Check Bank Account for customer payments.
  • Post cash to accounts and where possible allocate to correct invoices.
  • Deal with Hotel Queries.
  • Chase Debt – Maintain Excel Tracking spreadsheet.
  • Customer account reconciliations.
  • Assist with nominal reconciliations.
  • Reviewing and posting the weekly Income Journals.
  • Process mapping and procedure production where necessary.
  • To assist with sales related project work.
  • Weekly reporting into the financial controller of group aged debt.
  • To carry out all administrative tasks as requested by the Financial Controller. 
  • To fully comply with the set internal controls of the Financial Department.
  • Adhoc tasks as requested by management.

  • Support hotels in implementing Finance processes.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all admin staff.
 
Process:
 
  • Ensure sales ledger transparency & accuracy.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders/clients.
  • Support head office to achieve targets.
  • To act as a positive Ambassador for Surya Hotels.
 
Product:
 
  • Support Financial Controller to ensure team is compliant.
  • Work towards finance strategy and budget.
  • Use initiative to identify best process for the team/project.
