Job Title: Assistant Buyer
Reporting to: Procurement Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and selecting a range of products to best serve the commercial performance of the business.
• Work closely with existing suppliers
• Identify new commercial opportunities for the Company
• Actively engage in sourcing activities and support supplier discussions, negotiations and contract reviews / tenders.
• Analysing consumer buying patterns / trends to develop a customer led approach to category management
• Liaise with the planning dept. to determine correct reorder points to optimise service levels with customers and avoid over / under stocking.
• Work closely with supply chain to minimise outdated stock and to take relevant commercial actions to tackle any threats on this front.
• Liaise closely with other departments to ensure projects are completed (NPD and project management)
• Participating in promotional activities as per customer request or company design
• Supporting the range review process
• Strategic reporting.
• Other admin tasks as required
• Previous buying experience in an FMCG background.
• Good level of systems knowledge (ERP, Excel, Power point, word)
