We are looking for an experienced Commodity Trader.

This role is all about trading in Beans, Pulses and Rice markets (and future markets) to secure profitable supply and demand opportunities.

The role will work closely with all areas of the business including the commercial, logistics and finance teams to deliver the best financial performance possible against challenging targets.

Externally you will develop and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers, customers, and other external stakeholders.

You will have a strong understanding of key business risks such as credit, price, physical etc and how to mitigate their impact on the business.

Skills

• Due to the nature of this role and business, the successful candidate will need a minimum of 3 years experience already as a commodity trader ideally within the food industry and may have been exposed to futures markets & hedging etc with the remit of reducing risk and increasing commercial performance.
• Experience of reducing risk and increasing commercial performance
• A strong team player, with a great attitude, a desire to learn and the ability to form lasting relationships.
• Exceptional written, verbal, phone and presentation skills
• Ability to quickly learn new processes
• Buying and Selling experience
• Managing PNL is essential
• Business Analysis skills and/or strong analytical skills.
• Project Manager and/or Agile delivery skills.
• The ability to take ownership and deliver results in challenging, client-facing environments.
• Interest in sustainability & commodities and/or commodity trading.
