Typical daily duties will include:

Role Description

The Category Buyer role at Surya Foods involves being responsible for all procurement and purchasing, therefore experience in cross functional buying such as; Frozen, Ambient, Chilled, Beverages etc and experience of World Foods is advantageous.

This is a full-time on-site role located in Harwich, England although hybrid may be considered for the right candidate.

The Category Buyer will collaborate with other departments to ensure that relevant goods are ordered, delivered on time, and at an optimum cost, while maintaining the quality standard.

Responsible for

  • Identifying new business opportunities and turn them into plans that drive incremental sales in your accounts.
  • Ensuring full distribution and incremental space of Surya Foods products in the customer.
  • Activating our brands in line with promotional plans using levers available such as POS, Shippers, Pallets etc….
  • Working with NAMs to ensure effective use of commercial investment across your defined accounts.
  • Support the strategic direction of accounts, through the construction & implementation of comprehensive joint business plans.
  • Drive such plans throughout the business, through both your own accounts, but all other necessary functions, in order to ensure the targeted growth objectives are met.

  • Regular updates with the National Accounts Director to review progress and ensure appropriate action and focus is being applied.
  • To monitor business under contract and ensure brand integrity is upheld.
  • Ensure all necessary Trade Terms are negotiated, to meet the requirements of our company and that these are agreed, in place and are signed within a company agreed document ahead of the implementation date.

Reporting to the Group Technical manager, we are recruiting on a temporary basis a Specification & Packaging Technologist.

Duties:

  • Responsibility for the technical sign off for packaging, involving checking artwork against specifications through several stages.
  • Write and maintain specifications generating the recipe information, ingredients declaration, nutritional and allergens information with all relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate all information for new product specifications and transferring data into specific factory and customer requirements.
