Duties:

As a Production Operative at this site, you will work on a fast-paced automated production line which involves 3 key areas;

Inbound of Goods (Tipping) – where you work as part of a team to coordinate the raw material coming in and the by-products going out. As part of this, you will have to manage record of stocks and be involved in unloading of goods on a day to day basis which requires manually lifting materials, so physical exertion is required.

Production (Milling) – the specialist area of the process where you will be looking after the throughput of the product through the heart of production – the mill. You will also have to manage timely record of quality documents and cleaning documents as you go along the day with this process.

Packing – area where you will be involved in bagging the product into a final pack format for the end customer. This will involve managing the quality of the finished product as well as ensuring all the documentation related to the process is completed on time.

You’ll also help to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the site and ultimately ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed to ensure the quality, safety and legality of our products.

To facilitate this growth, we are seeking a Sales Order Processor to ensure that all Independent orders are processed and delivered in a timely and accurate manner. The role will include making outgoing sales calls, answering incoming sales calls, processing emails and generating sales order paperwork using our in-house software and standard packages such as excel and word.

This role would suit a recent Graduate who is keen to work in the ever changing and busy field of Supply Chain. You will spend time working within key areas of the business including Buying, Sales Reps, Production, Logistics & Warehousing.

Key accountabilities

  • Process all Independent orders in a timely manner
  • To liaise closely with Sales reps and customers to action any changes to orders or required delivery dates
  • To manage collections and returns
  • To manage full container loads and exports
  • To complete any required invoicing
  • To manage price changes and back orders
  • Identify areas that require process management and automation

To facilitate this growth, we are seeking a Supply Chain Assistant To support the Frozen Foods Supply Chain Manager in all areas of Frozen Foods Supply Chain. From agreeing the forward demand plan to producing the weekly production schedule. To ensure availability is maintained to agreed business target and obsolete stock is removed from the business.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Generate purchase orders and maintain admin to ensure smooth delivery of required stock.
  • Maintain all shipping documents and estimated time of departure/arrival.
  • To manage all internal transfers between Reed Boardall and internal company premises
  • To arrange vehicles from production site in Romania to UK
  • To review and respond to stock queries.
  • To maintain dates and comments on No stock and Low stock reporting
  • To support National Accounts and sales team to create new line forms.
  • Support Supply Chain Manager to ensure supplier to customer service level is on target by holding collaborative reviews with customers, identifying areas for improvement to help maintain a high service level going forward and creating joint supply chain plans for each customer.
  • Utilise Retailer systems to ensure forecasts are updated i.e., Tesco Connect, Retail Link

Based at our 11 acre production, distribution and foods head office site in Harwich, Essex you will work closely with multiple departments including transport, production, quality and sales & marketing ensuring the smooth running of fast moving production and warehousing facilities and logistical operations.

Building on your extensive experience and knowledge, working in a comparable role in FMCG, you will be a ‘walk the floor’ manager with a track record of cultural, process and operational improvement, change and transformation, team building, employee engagement and empowerment within a growth environment.

Beyond specific duties is a need to see the bigger picture and apply both quick fixes where identified and then longer term improvements across our entire food operations which align with the overall business strategy.

Main Purpose:

  • To Manage the manufacturing teams incorporating Production and Engineering to deliver the goals and objectives of the organisation.
  • Ensure a ‘right first-time’ manufacturing approach and set strategic goals for operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance to all UK legislation, independent accreditation like BRCGS and retailer standards.
  • Develop Management team to meet existing and future manufacturing requirements.
  • Supporting business operations through strong leadership including ensuring high morale, teamwork and good employee relations, at all levels.
  • Support development of production plans in-line with client forecasts with emphasise on business unit efficiency and profitability.
  • Liaise with planning department ensuring production targets are achieved.
  • Liaise with engineering department to identify improvements in accordance with best practice and to facilitate maximum efficiency from plant and equipment.
  • Directing and co-coordinating manufacturing according to quality and quantity specifications within cost objectives
  • Ensure all business unit facilities and services are being utilised effectively to operate at maximum efficiency.
  • Pro-actively develop and introduce lean manufacturing techniques in production.
  • Implement and achieve key manufacturing KPI’s.
  • Ensure that the factory operates at optimum levels of cost effectiveness with emphasis on wastage of resources and raw materials.
  • Support managers in development and control of labour budgets, ensuring that manpower levels, overtime working etc. are effectively controlled within operational demands.
  • Manage budgeting and budget with focus on product costs and margins.

Suitable candidates will have:

  • FMCG Food / Drinks manufacturing industry Operations Manager & Head of Operations level experience
  • Experience of leading and directing successful operational change within food/drinks FMCG manufacturing companies
  • Strategic experience in shaping operations.
  • Expertise in leading, implementing and developing site relevant processes.
  • Experience in leading and managing large teams.
  • Experience departmental reviews and restructures.

Food Production Operators Staff (Full Time) – Harwich, Essex.

Working out of our 11 acre site in Harwich, Essex we are seeking full time Production Operatives.

Rate of Pay: Current £8.91+ per hour dependent upon skills and experience + opportunity for career and salary progression.

Status / Days:  You will need a willingness to work 12 hour shifts (days/evenings/nights and weekends). Either Tuesdays to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday Shifts / Hours: 12 hour shifts – 2 shifts.

Desirable Skills but not essential:

  • Forklift driving/machine operator experience

Duties:

Production involves 3 areas.

Inbound of Goods (Tipping) – where you work as part of a team to coordinate the raw material coming in and the by-products going out. As part of this, you will have to manage record of stocks and be involved in unloading of goods on a day to day basis which requires manually lifting materials, so physical exertion is required.

Production (Milling) – the specialist area of the process where you will be looking after the throughput of the product through the heart of production – the mill. You will also have to manage timely record of quality documents and cleaning documents as you go along the day with this process.

Packing – area where you will be involved in bagging the product into a final pack format for the end customer. This will involve managing the quality of the finished product as well as ensuring all the documentation related to the process is completed on time.
