As one of the UK’s leading ethnic wholesale specialists we offer a variety of high quality, authentic products ranging from rice, flour, spices and sauces to snacks and savouries that are sold in over 30 countries worldwide. Our evolving ranges cater to the South Asian, Oriental, African-Caribbean, African and Polish communities. Not only a leading distributor across these sectors, many of our own brands are now market leaders, widely known for their superior quality and popular with the public and ethnic chefs alike due to their authenticity.

During the last 20 years, in response to the UK’s more adventurous culinary tastes, the Dulai brothers have taken Surya Foods from simple rice production to a major importer of exciting, new exotic world flavours, with an emphasis on emerging markets. With over 2,500 product lines available, we represent over 50 agency lines from some of the world’s leading companies as well as our own popular house-brands, which include Laila, Salaam, Apna, Jamaica’s Pride, Reggae Kitchen and Island Sun. In addition to our core business Flying Trade Group has carefully expanded Surya Foods through acquisitions of synergistic brands, including Cawoods salted fish and, more recently, trendy Sriracha Hot Sauce brand Flying Goose.

With our own distribution fleet of over 100 vehicles we have been able to maintain highly efficient service levels throughout Europe and now boast a large client account base – distributing products to supermarket chains, independent stores, cash and carrys, wholesalers and food service businesses throughout the UK and the world.

Operating from several different areas in UK, with distribution centres spread across Europe, as well as buying offices around the globe, our main hub is an 11 acre site in Harwich – home to Surya Foods head office and some 500,000 sq ft of storage space.
