Junior National Account Manager – FMCG – Top 6 Accounts

Are you looking for a new challenge, or know someone who is? We’re looking for a Junior National Account Manager or Account Executive looking for their next career move.

Working within our Mainstream Business Unit, you will be exposed to top accounts such as Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Lidl and Aldi and will help develop relationships with buying, supply chain and merchandising.

You’ll be organised, IT literate, commercially savvy, a team player who won’t mind rolling up your sleeves and have a passion for food – we sell a lot of it!

You’ll learn about world foods from South Asia, Africa, Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Far South East Asia and Central Europe. You’ll be working with No.1 brands in Rice (Laila & Mai Thai), Sriracha Sauce (Thai Dragon) and Frozen Halal (Humza).

Your accounts will be your own to make a success of and supporting on the bigger conversations such as NPD and range changes with our established customers. You will be part of a friendly, collaborative team who work together to really achieve results and have the support and guidance of your manager.

Food Retailer experience desirable but not essential. A solid account management background in an industry will give you an advantage.

You must have a valid driving license and be able to attend our head office in Harwich, Essex a minimum of 2 days per week.

Responsible for

  • Identifying new business opportunities and turn them into plans that drive incremental sales in your accounts.
  • Ensuring full distribution and incremental space of Surya Foods products in the customer.
  • Activating our brands in line with promotional plans using levers available such as POS, Shippers, Pallets etc….
  • Working with NAMs to ensure effective use of commercial investment across your defined accounts.
  • Support the strategic direction of accounts, through the construction & implementation of comprehensive joint business plans.
  • Drive such plans throughout the business, through both your own accounts, but all other necessary functions, in order to ensure the targeted growth objectives are met.
  • Challenge the status quo, to achieve a culture of continuous improvement & best practice and one whereby you are committed to go beyond the call of duty, in order to deliver outstanding results
  • Regular updates with the National Accounts Director to review progress and ensure appropriate action and focus is being applied.
  • To monitor business under contract and ensure brand integrity is upheld.
  • Ensure all necessary Trade Terms are negotiated, to meet the requirements of our company and that these are agreed, in place and are signed within a company agreed document ahead of the implementation date.
  • Develop and maintain broad professional working relationship within account base, but with clear focus on the following departments within any customer account:
    • Purchasing / Marketing / NPD / Operations / Sales

Must have..

  • Commercial awareness locally and internationally.
  • Highly ambitious and suited to extremely fast moving and non-traditional business.
  • Experience of interpreting, combining and utilising data from a variety of sources.
  • Understanding of commercial aspects; including sales and marketing.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presenter skills and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Able to manage up and lead an agenda.
  • Knowledge of FMCG and the independent retail sector.
  • Microsoft Office skills – especially Excel &  Powerpoint.
